
Bio
Ida Alanen (b. 1994) is a young generation pianist and composer from Helsinki, Finland. She is currently based in Amsterdam, completing her master studies at the Conservatory of Amsterdam under the instruction of Harmen Fraanje.
For the past few years Ida has been focusing on her career as a composing musician. At the moment Ida's main project is her own trio, Ida Alanen Trio, with whom she performs both in Finland and internationally. With the support of The Finnish Cultural Foundation the trio's debut album is set to be released in autumn 2023. She is also playing in various projects and bands in Amsterdam.
Her composing work has been supported with various grants from The Finnish Cultural Foundation, The Finnish Music Creators' Fund and Arts Promotion Centre Finland. Ida has a Bachelor degree in music from Metropolia University of Applied Sciences where she studied piano with Mikael Jakobsson and Laszlo Süle. She has also graduated from Pop&Jazz Conservatory in Helsinki, where she studied with Rob Dominis. Ida has also studied piano and composition privately with internationally recognized musicians such as Gerald Clayton, Abe Rábade, Omer Klein and Sid Hille.
